Local Information
Fashionable Palm Beach is the most northerly in a long line of beaches 40kms north of Sydney situated on the narrow tip of a peninsula with the marine playground of Pittwater on one side and the Pacific ocean on the other. Mansions line the cliffs above the beaches and many celebrity guests take up residence every summer. You might also recognize the beach as the setting for the long running T.V. hit Home & Away. It is also a great place to spend a day or weekend at any time of the year, with a select range of shopping and dining choices, access to National Parks, Barrenjoey Headland, the Lighthouse, a nine hole golf course and the waterways of Pittwater
Palm Beach Wine Co is on the corner of Barrenjoey and Iluka Road - the store has been in existence since 1915. We specialize in boutique Australian and NZ wines with a large range of selected European imports. Our staff, passionate consumers and knowledgeable salespeople are always willing to offer advice and assistance with the selection of one bottle or more. Our large selection of fine wines and imported beers is unequalled on the Northern Beaches. We also stock an excellent range of gourmet foods and general groceries. Everything you might need – for a weekend or a month - can be found in store.
To get here from Sydney head north along the Pittwater coastal road to Barrenjoey Road which takes you directly to Palm Beach. We are situated in the centre of the shopping and café strip on Barrenjoey Road, right on the corner of Iluka Road, 200m south of the ferry wharf on the Pittwater side of the penisula.
The ferry wharf links Palm Beach and the northern peninsular with the almost undeveloped western side of Pittwater, home to Ku-Ring-Gai Chase National Park. There is also a commuter service to Wagstaff and Ettalong on the Central Coast. For timetables and other information go to www.palmbeachferry.com.au . There is also a Water Taxi service leaving from the same wharf, serving Pittwater, Broken Bay and the lower Hawkesbury River.
Why not grab a selection of cheeses or a picnic lunch and a bottle of wine at the Palm Beach Wine Co and enjoy the day at the beach or picnic in the park where the view across Pittwater is magical.
